Holiday Homeotips
Here are some homeopathy tips you can use throughout this winter season to protect your health, prevent colds and flus (or help you recover from them) as well as promote complete healing after a trauma or intervention

Protect

Homeopathy has been proven to provide protection for your healthy cells and organs that are exposed to interventions aimed at diseased cells.

Although MICH is a Unicist homeopathy school, we do recognize the utility and importance that complexes (a mix of remedies), can play if used judiciously. Reckeweg 93 can be taken before a flight to help prevent colds and flus that are so generously recirculated and shared inside an airplane, as well as the full range of HTSF complexist remedies that are an integral part of our work in Honduras.

Colds and Flus

At the first sign of a cold or flu take Aconite, especially if your symptoms come on after being exposed to cold wind in your ears.  It's important to take it right away, before the cold or flu settles for it to be effective.  If you miss that opportunity, then try Gelsemium if the feeling of being out of sorts turns into feeling downright rotten: hot and sticky but also cold and shivery.  If there is pain, and a deep chill that reaches your bones, try Eupatorium Perfoliatum. If the pain is such that it improves by not moving at all, try Bryonia, whereas if relief from a general achiness can only be felt by constantly moving, consider Rhus Tox.

If the illness is more like a stomach flu, look to Arsenicum Album or Nux Vomica to help you through.

Complexist remedies can be powerful ally in cold and flu situations as they can work to take away the steps we need to take to select a single remedy.  These include Oscillococcinum, Homeodel 9, HTSF Virale and HTSF Grippe.  Most of these remedies are available in 30C or 200C potencies from your local pharmacy.  See below for a list of where you can find them as well as a link for more resources.

Bumps and bruises

In case any mishaps happen in the cold outdoors, here are some tips:

If an accident has happened, always first use Arnica: any potency is good, but if you have 30C or 200C, that will be the easiest. Take one granule and let it melt under the tongue. You will want to repeat this a half hour later. Repetition after this double dose depends on how much pain or discomfort there is: it can be as often as every hour, or as little as once per day..

If there's a fracture and the person is not helped much by the Arnica, before the bone is set, you can give Bryonia. This can also be helpful when it is a very bad sprain and the slightest movement hurts.

First Aid Homeopathy

First webinar - January 17
Homeopathy is a science and an art. There is an art to effectively administer the remedies in a way that supports the body’s processes in every step, just as there is an art to optimizing the dose and remedies so as to individualize and optimize the healing process. Homeopathy follows the principle of minimum dose, it is very important to take it the least possible, actively observing its effects.

Like the art of wild mushroom hunting, homeopathy cannot be learned from a book. You need to apprentice with a master homeopath with many years experience to be confident when this powerful healing tool effectively.

This is the opportunity we're offering to everyone with our first aid homeopathy course.  Learn some 40 remedies that you can use for your yourself or with your family in this 9 week online course with 2 live webinars.  The course is taught by Carla Marcelis, who is a medical homeopath with extensive clinical practice.  See below for more information about her work in Honduras.

Support Our Work in Honduras

Help us in our mission to provide affordable, sustainable & natural healthcare in Honduras

With the holidays approaching we have the opportunity to reflect on how much we have to be thankful for in the Western world. In North America, we can be grateful for abundant access to food, shelter and premium health care, in addition to the freedom to pursue our passions and interests. At MICH, we believe that community goes beyond our local environment and so we participate in missions abroad to help people who don't have what we can sometimes take for granted. We are always amazed at how this experience of giving feels so rewarding for the team.

Although the days are long and challenging, it's always an honour and a privilege to
practice homeopathy as a team, in an environment that is welcoming and grateful for the services we provide. Since 2012, MICH Homeopaths and Interns have been providing much needed health care support to Honduran communities that have none.

Donations to support us go directly towards the building of Homeopathic clinics and dispensaries, on-site treatment as well as community training – so the communities we visit can continue to provide healthcare long after the mission is over.

In this season of giving, consider the gift of helping others and supporting our work in Honduras. As a registered charity, your donation to HTSF is tax deductible and you will receive a tax receipt for the amount you donate, making your donation towards affordable, sustainable and natural healthcare in Honduras to be sustainable for you as well!
