BlueChoice HealthPlan is now offering a new dental product, Blue Dental
SM, to all of our small and large groups. Blue Dental offers flexible plan designs, including Select (PPO) plans with higher benefits for in-network services, and Open Access plans that let members visit the dentists of their choice. All plans cover preventive services at 100 percent. Orthodontic benefits for dependents can be added, and voluntary arrangements are available when accounts choose a BlueChoice
® medical plan.
Administering and Using Blue Dental
Blue Dental offers seamless administration and coordination between medical and dental benefits. Accounts have just one enrollment process and form, one consolidated medical and dental bill, and one BlueChoice representative.
It’s easy for members, too. They can use one ID card — their BlueChoice medical insurance ID card — for both medical and dental care. They access their benefits and claims information the same way: securely online through My Health Toolkit
®. And, they have access to one of the industry’s largest national dental preferred provider organization (PPO) networks, so they can save money on dental care. Members can find an in-network dentist on the
Doctor & Hospital Finder page on our website.
Blue Dental Availability
Any renewing group who wishes to keep its current dental plan may do so, even if the group makes changes to its medical benefits.
New groups or existing groups who wish to add dental coverage must select a new Blue Dental plan. Blue Dental plans are currently available only to groups with five or more contracts.
