Methane emissions soaring
A new report from the Global Carbon Project suggests that methane concentrations in the atmosphere are growing faster now than at any point in the last 20 years. This spike in methane, which is a potent greenhouse gas, likely comes from farm emissions – and could threaten efforts to slow climate change. Read more...

The German Committee Future Earth has released a new report outlining how researchers can contribute to the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Future Earth lands major grants
Future Earth has received awards totaling more than 2 million USD from the Gordon and Betty Moore and NOMIS Foundations. The grants will support sustainability research in areas central to the health of human populations and the planet. "This is science that will help all nations," says Future Earth's Josh Tewksbury.
