Hi <<First Name>>

1) draft BCRG community meeting notes for review until January 20, 2017.

The draft BCRG community meeting notes are ready for review.

The meeting notes will remain in draft form to allow time for comments and then will be finalised. Please provide any comments to:

Andrea at eo.bcrg@gmail.com or PO Box 8001 Rippleside, Vic 3215 by COB Friday 20th January, 2017.

The draft meeting notes are available from the Brooklynip website  click here

2) Next BCRG forum, March 8 - change to format and time
The next BCRG meeting will be held in ‘open house’ format at the earlier time of 4-7pm on 8 March at the Brooklyn Community Hall in Cypress Avenue.

We hope to attract a broader range of community attendees, who will be able to speak one-on-one with representatives from EPA, state government, Councils, and industry about their efforts to improve Brooklyn’s air quality.

There will also be a BCRG booth at the event – we would love you to stop by and tell us what you think about our normal BCRG format, and how it might be improved in the future.

All are welcome; please publicise this opportunity broadly within your networks….. and please let us know if your group or organisation would like to run a booth (stand) on the day.

4) EPA issues Brooklyn tyre company notice for illegal stockpile, 15 Dec 2016

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) has issued Brooklyn company Tyre Lug Services (Barro Group Pty Ltd) with a notice that requires about 10,000 waste tyres from trucks, earthmovers and dump trucks to be separated to ensure community safety.
The tyres at the site are the equivalent of about 150,000 regular car tyres.

EPA Metro Manager Daniel Hunt said EPA was also investigating possible breaches of the Environment Protection Act 1970 (the Act).

“The illegal storage of this many tyres at a site that is bordered with grassland shows complete disregard to the local community’s safety and EPA is now gathering a brief of evidence to see whether any offences have been committed under the Act,” Mr Hunt said.

5) Australia's Health Tracker
Some of the assertions made by the community member in Update 25 regarding the Health Tracker were questioned by some readers. Nonetheless, BCRG values community opinion and input in discussion.

We are also pleased to note that at least a few people read our updates!
Thank you one and all for another fabulous year of working together...enjoy the break and see you in 2017,
Jen and Andrea.

We have produced a promotional poster for BCRG and put a few up in community centres in Yarraville and south of the freeway but it would be great to get them posted in more places. If you would like to put a poster up the document is available on the Brooklynip website.
