ASSEMBLY
Stage 8B conducted the assembly this previous week. Their topic, ‘The Children of Tomorrow’ dealt with issues that could become obstacles in a child's path to holistic development.  The students talked about the plight of children who live in terrorised regions, and about virtual violence and its scarring effects. They encouraged the audience to reflect on the conditions they live in, and the security that they often take for granted.
This week, Stage 8C focused on ‘Math Magic’. The students revealed an entertaining side of Math through statistical games and problems for the teachers and students in the audience.
CCA
Vindhyas’ continue to emerge victorious by winning First Place in the poetry recitation competition and the middle wing cricket competition, where they beat the Nilgiris team in an exciting final match. 
In the indoor activities, the students of the middle wing took part in a novel Origami competition.
Alongside these activities, the students have all been busy with preparations for the Annual Concert, and have been spending their zero periods rehearsing diligently.
ELITE CHEF COMPETITION
The grand finale of the Cambridge Elite Chef Competition – Season 2, was held on 3rd December, 2016. Young chefs from Stages 6 to 9 showcased their culinary skills and dished out some fabulous food. The students showed off some colorful Mint Mojito mocktails, Blue Lagoon and Watermelon Lime refreshers. The appetizers varied from Fisherman’s coconut rice to an innovative Guava Pani Puri and Stuffed Dates. And finally, contestants put up complex desserts such as Chocolate spheres, an Apple pie, and a Fudge brownie topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup! The judges, Mr. Swarup Chatterjee and Chef Padala Padma Rao from Shree Shakti College of Hotel Management, were all praises for the level of talent shown by the students, and the effort they put in.

The Diploma program of International Baccalaureate aims at readying its students for the future and helping them develop the skills they need. The most crucial amongst these is critical thinking. Theory of Knowledge is the component in the IBDP which focuses on inculcating ‘Critical Thinking’ skills in young adults. CHIREC hosted a Theory of Knowledge Symposium for the International Schools in Hyderabad. The event was attended by 3 schools, who made presentations. These were followed by question and answer rounds and ensuing discussions about the ideas presented.
CHIREC Idol, the singing competition for students of the school, reached its Semi Final Round this week. 11 singers performed in three rounds, English, Hindi and Medley, out of which 3 participants will secure their place in the finals. The Finale will be held on 23 December, along with other events, constituting the annual celebrations.

We would like to reiterate that inspite of our constant endeavor to streamline the fee payment process, many parents still choose to remit the fees through IMPs and NEFT. 

For your benefit we are adding the procedure again here :
  • Payment needs to be made in the respective specified accounts only. These accounts information are specific for curriculum and branch. Kindly avoid remittances through other modes namely, NEFT, IMPS and RTGS. 
  • Two transactions are required for payments into two accounts. Payments will not be complete if transaction is done in only one account. The name will be in the list of defaulters until payment in the second account is done. 
  • Last dates for Fee payment : December 31, 2016.
  • While filling the Date of Birth in the SBM portal, kindly follow the norm of entering slash “/” between Date, Month and Year eg. DD/MM/YYYY – 02/05/2016. If you do not insert the slashes, you will get an error “please verify data entered and try again”.
Most Important:- PAYMENT INFORMATION TO SCHOOL AFTER PAYMENT : 
On completion of online payment, an acknowledgement will be generated in the SBM Payment Gateway Portal. This receipt is for the perusal of parents and necessary records.
For the school to receive an acknowledgement, kindly follow this process without fail.

Click on “Payment” link and enter the transaction details of your payment.
