Driving force

Auburn agronomy alum leads agricultural college in Georgia.

All great leaders are driven. They’re either driven by something—an ideal or cause that’s dear to them—or they’re driven to something—some specific rank or position they hope to attain. It could be argued that the truly great leaders are the ones who are driven by, rather than to, a special something.

Auburn College of Agriculture alumnus David Bridges is one such leader.

Fadamiro named associate dean for research, AAES associate director

Henry Fadamiro has been tapped to serve as associate dean for research in Auburn University’s College of Agriculture and as associate director of the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station, effective Jan. 1, 2017.

Alumni group recognizes contributions to agriculture

Plant pathology faculty member Leonardo De La Fuente has been appointed the Entomology and Plant Pathology Faculty Endowed Professor in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology and Department of Horticulture head and professor Dave Williams reappointed as the Elbert A. and Barbara L. Botts Endowed Professor in Horticulture, Auburn College of Agriculture Dean Paul Patterson has announced.

Chastity Stevenson Westry

(BS ’97, agricultural business and economics) of Hoover, Ala., was recently promoted as a senior director of sales for Frito Lay, leading the company’s customer strategy in Alabama, Mississippi and portions of Louisiana, Arkansas and Tennessee.

(BS ’09, animal sciences) of Thomaston, Ga., graduated from nursing school at Georgia Southwestern University in May 2013 and is now a registered nurse.
