Advent Season at Fremantle
|
|
Over the last few months we have been growing together as two different groups becoming one. God has been faithful and kind as we have navigate worship together. We continue to see growth both in depth and numbers. From August through most of November we worked through the series, "The Story of God: His Redemptive Pursuit through Scripture." You can find the sermons on the podcast linked above.
Advent Season began on November 27th. We began a series entitle, "Christmas is not just Carols." We looked at what it was like to live in the in between, the now and not yet, with Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. On Christmas morning we will look at Faith. We have had a few advent workshops to prepare banners created in the community of Village/Fremantle Church and ChurchFreo for the chapel to help us prepare for Christmas. We moved the old pulpit from the attic of the church building back into the sanctuary. We invited our friends at ChurchFreo to join us in worship though the season.
It has been a great 4 weeks as we have celebrated and learned together. God is weaving us together for His glory and to be His witness in Fremantle. I have been sharing an almost daily Advent Meditation on our website (see link above) if you want to join in the last few days and catch up for the previous weeks.
Summer is in full swing here and we will be looking at "Psalms for Summer" during the month of January. Please be praying as Lee works on a series to begin in February about the 5 distinctive of our gathering.

End of Year Giving/ Update
|
|
The end of the the year has almost arrived and I would love to invite you to give to our work here in Fremantle. We have had some partnerships drop off or decrease and also seen new partnership so we need to shore up our monthly support. An end of the year gift helps put money in reserve if a month falls short in giving. This is also a good time for you to check your giving. Credit cards and bank accounts can change through the year, so you may think you are giving and you haven't been. Here is the link to the MTW giving portal. Thank you for all your continued partnership. God is moving and blessing. We are so excited to see the next steps. https://mtw.org/missionaries/details/lee-and-shannon-hinkle

Keep praying for our Permanent Residence visas. We are currently on temp work visas that expire in August 2017. all paperwork is in and our health screenings are scheduled. It can take up to 6 months for a visa to be issued after everything is in.
Our fortnightly (every other week) Sunday night prayer gathering is providing a great place to build identity, weave our body together and time to cry out to God for our city. Please pray that God continues to grow this gathering.
Pray for the series about our five distinctives that will start in February. Pray that God will work in it to build a common understanding and posture for our gathering.
Pray for us as we work out plans to be in the US sometime late spring/early summer next year. Timing is important but we do need to be back for some partnership growth and personal engagements.
