Happy New Year 2017
Dear FKCCI Members, partners and friends,

In the name of FKCCI’s team and board of directors, I would like to wish all of you, your colleagues and your families all the best for 2017.
It will be a challenging year considering the global environment. But I am convinced that crisis can be turned into opportunities. In this regard, the current situation in Korea can be a unique occasion for the country to finally and fully embrace the means and the responsibilities which fit with its rank as the 11th worldwide economic power.

As the fraternity between France and Korea has been renewed last year thanks to the Anniversary years, we shall continue to support Korean people by trusting in their institutions and economy.

When it comes to economy, uncertainty is probably the worst enemy, which is why we dedicate our first event of the year to our traditional “Economic Forecast”, scheduled in February right after the Solal vacation. Then, we will officially launch our geolocalizing platform: “France in Korea 21, promoting the French business presence in Korea. We still need your support to fully finalize this great project and we will provide further information soon.

These are just a few events among many others that our Chamber is preparing in this first semester of the year.

Soon we will enter in the Year of the Rooster. An important animal for both Korea and France: in Korean culture, the rooster is known for being trustful and removing maliciousness in everything. As for France, it is an important emblem, notably of our national Rugby team, bringing inspiration and flair to its game.

Trust and flair, two keywords to be successful in 2017!
Let’s keep it in mind and once again happy New Year!

David-Pierre Jalicon,
FKCCI Chairman

Did you know that?
How to write a Korean resume
Contrarily to French résumés where the writer enjoys freedom on the content and the format to some extent, Korean résumés ("ilyeokseo") have a very codified format. Detailed information such as GPA scores, awards, school certificates, military service information for men and even family history have to be at the center. Another surprising but very rare information you can add to your résumé is your alcohol tolerance. Indeed, for some job positions, it is a very useful skill for the team-building and business diners you will be attending. Click here to discover more!
