Start 2017 with 12 days of the best indie theatre in Canada.

Watch this video of NSTF 2017 artists having some fun - and get in the mood to come join us at the heated Steam Whistle beer tent!

You are invited to our 10th birthday party: TONIGHT!

We kick off the festival with a 10th birthday party (can you believe it's been 10 years!?!), which includes things you may experience at any 10-year-old's birthday party, like pass the parcel and loads of free, sugary birthday cake. The party starts at 9pm tonight, January 4th. Don't miss it! Full invitation here.

Kawa Ada on Metro Morning

Did you catch NSTF artist Kawa Ada on CBC radio this morning? He was talking about his new play, The Death of Mrs. Gandhi and the Beginning of New Physics (a political fantasy). In case you missed it, here is the full interview.

Kawa's play takes place in 1984, on the eve of Indira Gandhi’s funeral, when Margaret Thatcher, Imelda Marcos, Benazir Bhutto and a Canadian intern by the name of Kim Campbell are taken hostage by a time terrorist named Malala, claiming to be from the future.
