Lesson 2025: Reasons for Thankfulness, Pt.2

When we realize the grace God has given us, we are overwhelmed by His love.

The woman with the alabaster jar loved much because she was forgiven much. Luke 7:47

Before salvation, the Law condemned us. It listed reasons we deserved the death penalty.

But Christ paid that penalty. Now the Law is a list of blessings, and a map.

The Law lists specific reasons we can be thankful to God for His forgiveness of past sins.

Then the Law guides us as we go forward, on a safe path that honors the Savior we love.

Be thankful to God for loving you. That’s the only reason we are able to love others.

Rom.5:8 God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Eph.2:4-5 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.

1 John 4:19 We love because he first loved us.

God gives us overflowing grace and comfort. Most important, God gave us victory over sin.

2 Cor.9:8 God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
