Lesson 2030: Thanksgiving is Not Optional

The New Testament is clear: being ungrateful is sin.

In Rom.1:21,28 Paul lists things that destroy culture; he says one evidence of decay in society is that people become unthankful.

In 2 Tim.3:2, failing to be thankful is listed as evidence of the end times.

When Jesus healed the 10 lepers, 9 of them walked away without saying, “Thank you.” Luke 17:11-19 Only one gave thanks.

Failing to be thankful is a violation of God’s Word.

Sometimes God’s will is hard to know for sure. But if you are not thankful, you are out of God’s will.

If you’re not thankful, you have no peace with God.

The world is filled with distress, depression and despair. But God has the answer we need in His Word.

Don’t worry, or let anxiety take over your life.

Phil.4:6-7 be anxious for nothing... But in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
