BeGrainSafe Launched In Brandon

The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) is pleased to announce the launch of BeGrainSafe, its new grain safety program. The official launch of the program was held at Ag Days in Brandon from January 17-19, 2017.
While the mobile demonstration unit that we used in Brandon has been brought in from the United States for this show, a Canadian version will be on the road across western Canada in the early spring of 2017.
“BeGrainSafe which will be bringing awareness of the hazards associated with grain handling and storage to the agricultural community,” said Glen Blahey, CASA Agricultural Safety and Health Specialist. "We will also be helping rural fire departments across western Canada develop their grain entrapment rescue skills and procedures.”

Ag Safety Week 2017

Coinciding with Canadian Agricultural Safety Week, which runs from March 12th to the 18th, CASA is going to give you the tools to understand the challenges unique to keeping every generation in your family safe. From the young toddler; to the busy adult juggling family, farm, and work; to the elder farmer with an age-defying drive to keep on farming. There are risks specific to each group—and ways to manage those risks.
This year's theme is “Appealing to Adults” and will focus on what adults can do to stay safe for themselves and their families as they juggle life on the farm. Check agsafetyweek.ca for updates!

AgSafe Ribbon Project

The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) has teamed up with Alberta Agriculture and Forestry and Farm Credit Canada to bring awareness to the importance of Farm Safety through the AgSafe Ribbon Campaign.
Every March, we celebrate Canadian Agricultural Safety Week (CASW) and this year CASA is asking all members of the agricultural community to reflect on the role they and others play in keeping our farms safe places to work and play. Wear the ribbon, talk about farm safety, and make a commitment to keep all Canadian farmers, farm families and farm workers free from injury.
