Welcome
Our mission at Rome First is Love God, Love People and Serve the World and our vision statement shows how we do this... "serving Rome by loving and welcoming all as partners in transformation".
What to Expect
Thank you to all those that participated in our Worship Surveys. As we try to identify how Rome First can reach all people with open doors and open hearts, we are continuing with three worship opportunities at this time. Below, see our 2017 Worship Schedule. We also want to encourage you to give us feedback anytime. We can all reach out to someone we know that needs a place of grace to come to. Who will you invite?
Early 30 Service // 8:30 am Historic Sanctuary
Worship on the Wilder Side // 9:00 am Wilder Center
Traditional Worship // 11:00 am Historic Sanctuary

Richard Dixon
Richard and his wife Mary Louise have been members of Rome First since 1975. They have two children, Beth and Charles, and four grandchildren. He has been a faithful usher for the 15 years and coordinates our traditional worship volunteers. Over the years, Richard and Mary Louise have taught many different grades for the children's Sunday School. They have also taught confirmation classes throughout years and have volunteered with Children's Ministry. At Rome First, you will find Richard teaching adult Sunday School on a rotating schedule and has done this for the past 20 years. You may have seen Richard as an acolyte at times during worship...as he has always been a part of this worship ministry helping the children learn about this long time tradition. Over the years, Richard has served on the Church Council Board, finance committee, and with the North Georgia Conference in previous years. When he's not at church, you can find him talking to the animals...He is a veterinarian at East Rome Animal Clinic.
Read about Richard and he being the recipient of Heart Of The Community Board of Governors Award, where he will be honored on February 18th.

Volunteer Opportunities
SUNDAYS: Can you be a volunteer here at Rome First? You may be the person we are looking for! Ushers, greeters, Crossroads Cafe, Guest Connections Table, Please contact us if you can help serve.
WEEKDAY: Have some spare time during the day? How about volunteering in the office during the lunch hour answering the phone and light office work.
SOUND BOARD: We are in need of Sound Board Techs. Although this may seem like a highly qualified position, it is fairly simple. You will receive "on the job" training" because it's just that easy! Both 8:30 am and 11:00 am services are needed.
PRAISE BAND: Do you play an instrument or sing? Why not be a part of the Rome First Praise Band. Contact Jason Dunn to learn more about the Contemporary service and the Praise band.
