Happy New Year from GM AHSN!

In 2017 we will continue our work supporting NHS, academia and industry to improve the health and wealth of the GM population. In order to ensure we are working to meet the needs of our members, we will be holding another engagement event later in the spring. The agenda is still being finalised but in the meantime I would urge you to save the date:

Wednesday 15 March at The Place Aparthotel, Manchester

Full details of speakers and activities will be released shortly, however we are also looking for contributions from any members who wish to speak about innovations being adopted in their organisation. If you would like to put forward an innovation for discussion please contact admin@gmahsn.org or reply to this email.

We look forward to welcoming you in March.

European Assistance for Innovation Procurement Videos

Do you want to get better acquainted with innovation procurement in general? Would you like advice on getting an innovation procurement off the ground? Or do you need inspiration from public procurers who have already implemented their innovation procurement?

Then look no further: the eafip initiative has launched six videos which will help you move forward (three cases of Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) and three of Public Procurement of Innovative Solutions (PPI)).

The videos showcase six individual cases of innovation procurement implemented by public procurers across Europe. They provide first-hand information about the different approaches that can be taken for the development and implementation of innovation procurement and highlight the best practices and lessons learned from these six real-life cases.

Watch them in whatever order suits you and as many times as you wish. We hope you will find them as informative and as useful as we do!

Slõ Milkshakes+

Back in 2015, we provided funding via our Technology Innovation Challenge (now known as the Ignite Fund) to Slõ Drinks Plc. to support the development of Slõ Milkshakes+, the world's first pre-thickened high-calorie nutrition supplement designed specially for people with dysphagia (swallowing difficulty). Mathew Done, the founder of Slõ Drinks has been in touch with us recently to give us an update:

"We are now selling an average of 450 sachets a day! We are also in negotiations with a healthcare company in Australia about distributing the product there, and we are currently working on a vanilla flavour. As ever, thanks for making this happen and helping us help those with dysphagia. It wouldn't have been possible without the GM AHSN support."
