This academic year, BTF is supporting 506 students through scholarships promoting literacy with a special focus on disadvantaged girls.
Started in 2004, with just 4 girls, BTF supported a total of 1,172 students in empowerment scholarships in the last 10+ years. We provide micro-scholarships for their education, remove the burden on their families easing affordability.

We have partnered with ÇYDD, Koruncuk Vakfı Bolluca Village, TED, Nesin Vakfı Math Village, ODTÜ Geliştirme Vakfı ve Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Vakfı in Turkey.
There are many ways to reach out and give back and there are so many eligible bright children who want to continue their education, but unfortunately they are denied this opportunity due to limited support and scholarship funds.

What's next?
One of the hardest disabilities for children to overcome (or adjust to) is blindness. They explore & see the world with their hands, they need to learn braille system & access to braille books in young age in order to build core knowledge & literacy. If they don't go to school, or lack the adequate resources for enrichment, they fall behind socially, and get isolated from the society. This project is going to create a fund to support their education & enrichment.
12% of the Turkish population is disabled including visually impaired/blind. There are 202,211 children in a total disabled population of 9,300,000. Only, 9 % of the disabled children is getting an education or currently schooled vs. 90% population norm. ==> This ratio is much severe for the blind, less than 5% is getting an opportunity to go/attend school.

Giving Circles or Fundraising as a Team is an exciting alternative to individual donations, offering Bridge to Türkiye supporters and their friends the opportunity to raise funds together with BTF, while having fun and spreading the word to others. Giving Circle members pool their tax deductible charitable dollars with BTF, and decide as a group which projects and programs to support.

On July 26th 2016, Bridge to Türkiye Fund (BTF) has been granted to the United Nation-accredited Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Special Consultative Status to the United Nation Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Consultative Status to the United Nations ECOSOC is the highest status granted by the United Nations to NGOs and granted upon recommendation of the ECOSOC Committee on NGOs, which is comprised of 19 Member States.
