Lesson 2056: Is Jesus God? Pt.6
Jesus lived a perfect life without sin.
Heb.4:15 we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
1 Pet.2:22 He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth.
Jesus allowed people to worship Him; only God is to be worshipped.
Matt.4:10, 28:9 worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve. They took hold of his feet & worshiped him.
Why does it matter who Jesus is?
If Jesus was just a man, his death could not have paid for our sins. Only God could pay an infinite penalty.
1 John 2:2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
2 Cor.5:21 For our sake God the Father made Jesus who knew no sin to be sin, so that in Christ we might become the righteousness of God.
Whoever believes in Jesus is saved; whoever does not is condemned.
John 8:24, 3:18, 35-36 unless you believe that I am God you will die in your sins.
Whoever believes in Jesus is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
