#DirectedbyWomen2017 extends a deep invitation to you to be an active, loving, joyous part of this great leap forward on the planet at this time. 

2017 is going to be a year where the global film community wakes up to the reality that there are tens of thousands of women film directors in a joyous and exuberant way. It’s time to explore, screen, celebrate, and support their work. 

Use the hashtag #DirectedbyWomen2017 all year long as you share about films by women directors; talk about the screenings and viewings you’re involved with; create reviews, profile pieces, interviews, etc.; and all the other ideas you’ll come up with to celebrate women directors and their work.

And again this year we’ll concentrate the #DirectedbyWomen love with a Worldwide Film Viewing Party September 1-30, 2017 during which time we’ll mobilize film screenings, filmmaker Q&As, panels, interviews, online streaming parties, Twitter Chats, Google Hangouts, festivals, popup cinema experiences, house parties, and whatever other ideas participants dream up to create a delicious 30 day global sharing of films #DirectedbyWomen.
