Join us for an evening teaching and discussion on the importance of developing a rich vocabulary for the sacred. We’ll discuss ways this type of knowledge can make us more wise and kind rather than becoming annoying religious zealots, and how all this relates to the topic of personal destiny and calling. We’ll also explore the role our own ancestors can play in this cultural repair.

Sex, Gender & the Ancestors

Suggested donation $10-20, no one turned away. No need to confirm in advance.
Our ancestors are often undervalued allies in healing personal and cultural wounds of misogyny, patriarchy, homophobia, restrictive gender roles, and repressive shaming attitudes toward sex. And yet harmful ways of relating with sexuality and gender are often intergenerational inheritances from our cultures of origin and from our ancestors and families in particular.
In this evening teaching and discussion we’ll explore how our ancestors of lineage and of culture can help us access greater perspective, healing kindness, and life force energy for transforming all the internalized family and cultural funk around sex and gender. We’ll have time for dialogue and of course the approach to the material will be sex positive, gender inclusive, and welcoming to diverse perspectives and experiences.

This year, millions of people will use psychedelics outside of supervised medical contexts, many of them for the first time. Difficult psychedelic experiences can be frightening, but also potentially among the most valuable experiences someone can have. What can you do to help someone having a difficult psychedelic experience? What techniques are available for helping transform a potentially traumatic situation into a positive or even therapeutic one? What role has the Zendo Project played at festivals, and what take-home messages are available for others interested in psychedelic harm reduction?
About The Zendo Project
The Zendo Project provides a supportive environment and specialized care designed to transform difficult psychedelic experiences into valuable learning opportunities, and even potentially offer healing and growth. In turn, our work reduces the number of drug-related hospitalizations and arrests. Learn more at zendoproject.org
