New Sponsorship Program Kick Off!

We are excited to unveil our new sponsorship program! You can visit the sponsorship page by clicking HERE.  It has been exciting to partner with Pure Charity to make the platform for our new sponsorship page.  Next week the page will be integrated onto our webpage, but for now you can use the above link to access all of the children.

For $40/month you have the ability to help a Batwa child to get an education (covers school fees, exam fees, books, supplies, and uniform), receive three meals a day, and be provided with basic healthcare.  Once you sponsor a child, you will receive updates on a regular basis.  We will be training our staff in Uganda so that they can let you know how your child is doing, post letters from your child, pictures and videos.

We are still adding children to the program.  There are over 185 children in our program.  We are praying that everyone of our children will be sponsored!

Seeds of Hope Christmas Report

We are praising God that all 136 of our Batwa Seeds of Hope Children were sponsored for Christmas this year!  We are also praising God for all of you who prayed and helped support this Christmas project.  It was a grand adventure and full of many "firsts" for most of our children.  Their eyes were opened wide as many of them did not know that life existed outside of the small corner of the world where they lived.  They saw how BIG their God truly is!  To read the full report, please click HERE.

A BIG Thank You!

We want to say THANK YOU to three young men who have truly inspired us and have become our heroes here at Hope Ministries Uganda!  Trey Barnes (13 years old), Carter Webb (12 years old), and Grant Barnes (10 years old), took it upon themselves last year after hearing the story of the Batwa Seeds of Hope Children to begin campaigning for the children. Their first campaign they actually raised funds to help us build our school.  This second campaign they raised $2940 so that they could buy 196 pairs of The Shoe That Grows!  These shoes are amazing because they will grow up to five shoe sizes and last five years!  We are so blessed by these young heroes and hope that their story will inspire so many.  You are never too young to do God's work!  Thank you Trey, Carter and Grant!

Land of Living Hope Project
The Land of Living Hope Project will be kicking off by the end of this month!  We are reviewing blue prints this coming week, reviewing costs, and finalizing.  We will send out a special news letter update on the details once everything is finalized.  But just to give you a sneak peek of what will be happening, we will give you a few details.

We will be starting with two phases for this coming year.

Phase One is the structure that will be a multi-use building that will enable us to 'move' to the land. The multi-use building will enable the school, the sleeping accommodation for the kids and church on Sundays. We are talking to a steel structure organization about the options for this. Then within the structure we can  leverage temporary and movable walls to organize for the current use.  Phase Two will be building the actual children's village.

Vocational Training Program

We are in need of 10 sewing machines and 10 weaving machines for our vocational training program.  Each unit costs approximately $125.  To donate to help us with this campaign, please click here.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support!  It is because of you that this ministry continues to grow and hope is rising up where there was once no hope!  God is on the move!

As we move forward we continue to focus on our four "R's":

REDEEM.  The Batwa have been held under captivity of both being separated from God and as conservation refugees.  The struggle has been real.  The hope is that through being the hands and feet of Jesus, Hope Ministries Uganda will help free the Batwa from captivity and they will discover a relationship with the living God.  They will no longer be called unworthy.  They have a new name and a new life.  God is not done with them.

RESTORE.  To restore is to bring back into existence.  The Gospel message restores the relationship that God had originally intended to have with the Batwa.  It restores families as they learn about how God originally created family.  The goal is to restore families as they begin to understand the importance of family and especially the father figure and of course the Father figure.  Through restoration of the family, the hope is that child abandonment and the number of orphans will decrease.  Through restoration we hope to have opportunities to find land where the Batwa can settle, have a home, and begin a new life through our programs to move towards self sufficiency.  Research shows that when families become land owners and can be taught to grow their own food, that the child mortality rate decreases.  The Batwa children have the highest mortality rate in all of Uganda.

REBUILD.  To rebuild the ancient ruins is a beautiful vision.  As the Batwa understand and learn that they have been redeemed and restored, their lives can be rebuilt.  The vision that Pastor Gerald has been given has been to do this through education, vocational training, demonstration farms, entrepreneurship programs, medical outreaches, church planting, nutritional food programs for children and nursing mothers, caring for orphans and abandoned children, and counseling and discipling families, men and women.

RAISE UP.  The final goal will be to raise up a new generation who will rise up and out of poverty and be restored in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Through rebuilding the ancient ruins and educating local tribes, the Batwa will no longer feel forgotten and hopeless.  Hope is rising up.
