Thank you so much for your prayers and support this year!

We are so grateful for you.  This has been an amazing year to "connect people to purpose" from around the globe to projects in Africa.  It is encouraging to see people in those projects be connected to the Kingdom!  Being on the field keeps the whole family engaged in missions, and we love receiving and hosting guests and donors. Below is a highlight reel of 2016, some things were tough, but God is glorified in everything!  We wanted to thank you as a family.  The girls are thriving in their school and community.

Some people have asked about how to participate in year-end giving, please scroll to the end of the letter.  We have encouraging news!

2016: A Hard Yet Fruitful Year
Hardest thing in my life! Losing my best friend and partner in ministry, Hein Reyneke (40 years old), this July. (Click on link to read the story)
Preaching in Khyamandi, SA

Preaching and teaching in South Africa and Ethiopia.

My message: “Will people remember Jesus when you leave the room?”  Matthew 5:16.
Samaritan’s Feet, South Africa hosted 16 shoe distributions/foot washings, which reached 3,800 people with the hope of the gospel. I serve as board member and interim Country Director of this ministry.
Presented church leaders the vision of the Senai Coffee Lodge in Yirgachefe, Ethiopia.  Changing our old house into a 5-star boutique coffee lodge, supporting the Harding Memorial Bible School. (More details to follow!)
My girls leading worship at a church in the Khyamandi township! Such a blessing to work as a family in a local ministry, not just ‘daddy’ flying off to help people.
God’s provision of our South African visas after 17 months of waiting.  It allowed us to visit family in America, though the time was too short!
Our team at the Harding Memorial Bible School in Yirgachefe, Ethiopia. November 2016
Hosting 7 different mission teams as they joined us in South Africa, Namibia, Ethiopia, and Kenya.  It is amazing how God uses His church to fulfill the Great Commission.
Supporting Hanna's Orphan Home in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is always a blessing to spend time with Hanna, an angel from heaven!

Dairy Cow Retirement Program Ethiopia

The other new project is the Dairy Cow Retirement Program for church leaders in Ethiopia.

This is a new venture that we have launched; it focuses on working with retired church leader Asfaw Bedecha in Yirgachefe, the village in which I grew up.  We are building the first Dairy now, hoping to have our cows by the beginning of next year.  This should provide a steady income, and like the “Heffer Project”, the new calves will provide income for other pastors going forward.  Our goal is to create a program that helps sustain retired pastors across Ethiopia.
Asfaw (retired pastor) breaking ground on the new Dairy

Our family has been active in school, work and all of our relationships, challenging ourselves to make sure God gets the glory, and that Jesus is remembered when we “leave the room”.  It is a great challenge for all of us to take into the New Year. People can forget your name, status, job description or sports achievements, but did you point them to Jesus?  (Read Matthew 5:16)

Thank you for standing with us,

Drew Harding
