Day 20 || Thursday

Mini Challenge: Schedule a spring break or summer music camp
Details: Music camps can support your studio in so many ways! Some benefits are financial and others are not so easily quantified:
  • Extra source of income during lean summer months
  • Supplemental income throughout the year without adding to your weekly teaching load
  • Testing ground for new programs that could become ongoing group classes
  • Fun way to welcome and onboard new students
  • Time to build relationships and collaboration between students in your studio
  • Opportunity for kids who can’t commit to weekly lessons to get some musical experience
Parents in the U.S. are already making plans for their kids’ summer activities, so if you want the best chance at being included in their camp schedule, you need to be announcing your programs by January.

You don’t have to have the entire camp planned today, just get it on the calendar so you can start publicizing it!

If you haven’t hosted a camp before and are nervous about the time commitment, start by offering a single day camp during one of the shorter school holidays.
Resources: When you are ready to plan the activities for your music camps, Pinterest will have you covered. Just remember that exploring Pinterest is like hiking through the wilderness alone: make sure someone knows where you're going and when you'll be back so they can call in the search and rescue team if you get lost. ;)
