Volunteers In Education

"Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless." Sherry Anderson

St. Cloud Area School District 742 is committed to partnering with community volunteers, to help personalize instruction and enrich curriculum for all learners. District 742 offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups 14 years of age and older. Typically, volunteers are asked to commit to volunteering for a full school year or a minimum of 20 hours before leaving
the program.

The Volunteers in Education (V.I.E.) Program is designed to focus on improving academic outcomes for students in our schools. Volunteers serve as adult role models to students while encouraging them to do well in school. There is no experience necessary to become a volunteer in education! V.I.E. offers training and orientation to ensure that volunteers are successful tutors for students. To learn how you can make a difference by volunteering with District 742, visit www.isd742.org or email Volunteer@isd742.org.

The Blog Spot

"My wonderfully talented niece, Kate, was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome when she was in preschool. Her public schools, be it at elementary, middle or high school, provided her with an excellent education tailored to fit her individual and unique needs. That, in addition to the efforts of my sister and her husband, has led Kate along a very good pathway. She graduated from high school in 2014, received her AA from a community college in 2016, and is now enrolled and attending a state university. I couldn't be more proud of her, and am very appreciative of the help she received as part of her K-12 public education." Read more in the latest Community Education blog post "A Pathway to Learning" from Dr. Scott Wallner, District 742
Community Education Assistant Director.
