PIMA COUNTY ATTORNEY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR
2017 CITIZENS PROSECUTION ACADEMY

Tucson, Arizona - The Pima County Attorney’s Office once again offers its highly acclaimed Citizens Prosecution Academy to the public from February 28, 2017 through March 23, 2017. This program is free and applications are now being accepted online.

The Citizens Prosecution Academy is a popular course that demystifies the criminal justice system and the Pima County Attorney’s Office.

The Academy introduces citizens to the inner workings of the County Attorney’s Office, law enforcement, and the criminal justice system. The course offers opportunities for visits to the crime laboratory, the Pima County jail, the juvenile detention center, and the state prison.

A diverse group of speakers from the County Attorney’s Office and the Tucson Police Department Crime Lab will discuss topics ranging from cold case homicides, the “CSI Effect,” to prosecuting sexually violent predators.  Prosecutors will also cover topics such as narcotics, gangs, ballistics/firearms, witness protection, internet crimes against children, sex crimes and stalking, and domestic violence.

Classes are free and open to the public and will be held twice a week, beginning February 28, 2017, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Tucson Police Department west side service center located at 1310 W. Miracle Mile, Tucson, Arizona 85705.  The program is four weeks and participants receive a certificate upon completion.

We encourage you to share this unique opportunity with friends who may be interested. The program is free, but space is limited.  An application is required and can be completed online at www.pcao.pima.gov/prosecutionacademyform.aspx
Deadline to apply is February 10, 2017.
