Dear <<Salutation>> Reader,

GreetingJack_Dongarras for the New Year! I am Jack Dongarra, the program chair for ISC 2017, and I am happy to connect with you in the January issue of ISC News.

Here is a status update from my side for the upcoming June conference, which will be held for the third year in Frankfurt. To start with, the program committee, steering committee and I are continuing our efforts to upgrade and enhance the overall program for industry and academic participants.

In fact, we continue to significantly strengthen our organizing and program committee in every aspect, and are lining up an exciting set of speakers for the conference. In particular, Pavan Balaji and David Keyes are responsible for the technical papers program, who will continue the tech paper review via a face-to-face meeting, allowing us to elevate the selection criteria to match the best international conferences.

The conference keynotes and other talks from invited speakers are being evaluated. Those selected will reflect not only current areas of interest, but also emerging topics, such as the convergence of big data and HPC, machine learning, and coping with the speculated end of Moore’s Law. Of course, the exhibits, panels, vendor sessions, tutorials, workshops, BoFs, and posters are also being reviewed and fine-tuned to meet attendees’ expectations.

All in all, we expect a record number of attendees this year, making ISC 2017 an essential event for the HPC professional. Come and join us for an exciting week of high performance computing in Frankfurt, from June 18th through June 22nd.

Best regards,
Jack Dongarra
ISC 2017 Program Chair
