Staying healthy during assessment season

Happy New Year and we hope you’re looking forward to the year ahead. We know that the assessment period can be challenging, so see the Students’ Union’s (SU) six tips to help you survive exam season and take your Happiness Pulse for advice on how to boost your happiness. If you’re affected by illness or other causes during assessment, see the Student Guide to Extenuating Circumstances for help and support. We wish you all the best.

You Said, We Did: Find study space when you need it

Your feedback is vital to us being able to continually improve your experience here. For example, following your feedback, we have launched our Find a Computer service and from now until 20 Jan, we are piloting Find a Study Desk. Our libraries have also made changes to their lending policy, re-introduced the Suggest a Book scheme and will soon launch study passes (to avoid people ‘holding’ a study desk for long periods of time).

Personal safety

It's important, as in any city, to stay safe during your time in Bristol. Walk home with friends at night, look out for each other and visit our website for advice on personal safety and who to call in an emergency.

You Said, We Did: Student support consultation

As part of our ongoing commitment to listening to students, we are seeking to enhance our student support. We are consulting on how best to develop new support opportunities - including academic, wellbeing and mental health support - with students and staff across our Schools and residences.

Discounted sports passes now available

Term 2 sports passes are now available to purchase online. Get discounted rates on Active Plus, Active Gym & Active Swim. Membership period runs from 9 Jan until Sept. Already have a membership? You can upgrade for a discounted price too. See more details and join online.

City highlights in 2017

It’s not hard to see why students choose Bristol - or why they keep coming back after graduation. From festivals to carnivals, here are our top picks for what’s happening in the city in 2017. Bristol was also recently voted one of Rough Guide’s top 10 cities, cited as ‘one of the UK’s most forward-thinking, innovative and dynamic small cities’.
