“Pitching” new work to potential producers and presenters is a great way to attract international partners and funding. Pitchbook publicizes new projects without the necessity or expense of traveling. It is available through print and digital formats, and is distributed by American Dance Abroad to international programmers at marketplaces and professional gatherings such as Aerowaves Spring Forward (Aarhus, Denmark), Performing Arts Market Seoul (Seoul, South Korea), and China Shanghai International Arts Festival Performing Arts Fair (Shanghai, China), among others.

Professional Critique:
Now Accepting New Applications
Professional Critique is American Dance Abroad's learning tool
to provide you with feedback from an international programmer.
|
|
|
Professional Critique is a program through which American Dance Abroad will pair you with an international programmer and facilitate an evaluation of your work. The programmer will review video footage, marketing materials and production requirements, and then answer a series of questions designed to help you find your niche in the international landscape. Understanding how one’s work and organization are evaluated through the eyes of an international programmer can help to ensure a more positive touring experience.

Reaction from a participating company:
"This is so helpful... Thank you so much. I look forward to sharing it with the staff at our meeting next week. It is very constructive and detailed. Encouraging but not lightweight. It articulates several things that we could implement with a little effort and it seems would be of great benefit." –Jamey Hampton, Co-Artistic Director, BodyVox
