Mother - Daughter Tech Savvy Team!!
Denise and Aleah Brown have been on this journey together to become Tech Savvy women. An important part of their journey has been the AAUW Greensboro programs, IT IS For Girls and Triad Tech Savvy, both developed by and implemented by the branch STEM chair, Dr. Lakshmi Iyer.
We are so proud to be offering Triad Tech Savvy for the fourth time on Saturday, April 1st 2017, 8 AM to 3:30 PM at Sullivan Science on the UNCG campus.
STAY TUNED FOR NEWS ABOUT THE REGISTRATON SITE
Tech Savvy committee members, Mary Fran Schickedantz and Jane Terwillegar, attended the Guilford County Schools parent/student fair to hand out flyers and let science teachers know about Tech Savvy. With Mary Fran and Jane is Dibrelle Tourett, Guilford County Schools executive director of gifted programs.

January 21st Annual Soup Luncheon and Program
Above, Michelle Kennedy, 2016 Greensboro News & Record Woman of the Year and Executive Director of Interactive Resource Center, spoke at our January 21st annual soup luncheon. With unique insight into the lives of those "temporarily living homeless", Michelle revealed her path to this point and her plans for the future to make lives better for the people of Greensboro.
Below, Sue Mengert checks the soup line as eager members and guests, especially those returning for the Woman's March, serve themselves.
January 21st Women's March
The Woman's March (on DC) in Greensboro was a large and inspiring event. AAUW members Libby Haile, Cherrie Wheaton and Roddy Hurewitz carried the banner and echoed our support for women's rights. It was gratifying to see one young woman with a poster exclaiming the wage gap issue.
AAUW is thrilled to see women of all ages marching for pay equity and a broad range of issues vital to women.
