Congratulations to Charles Stewart!!


After serving 6 years in the United States Army, Charles continued his hard work, achievements, and accomplishments with his tenure at Georgia Trade School. Charles had a job offer with Aero BridgeWorks weeks before his graduation, and since, has begun work at Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson Airport before being dispatched to LAX! Charles set an excellent example of attitude, commitment, and helpfulness to his peers. Charles - we thank you for your service to our nation, we look forward to following your career with Aero Bridgeworks, and thank you for your enthusiasm and dedication to your welding education.

What a Year!
 
2016 was the biggest year in the history of Georgia Trade School, highlighted by the following accomplishments:

-GTS Senior Instructor Elaine Waters was named the National Teacher of the Year by the 2,500 member strong Fabricators and Manufacturers Association

-GTS also received the prestigious Cobb Chamber Top 25 Small Business of the Year, the Cobb Chamber is one of the most successful in the nation

-100 students graduated to become welders for 47 different companies

-Since our inception in 2012, 320 welders have been trained and are working in the field for over 100 employers

-Major new employment partners including Berkel and Company, Aero BridgeWorks, Piedmont Mechanical, and Raydeo 

-Our students, graduates and staff were featured in several local and national publications including the Atlanta Journal Constitution, The Fabricator, Practical Welding Today and Yahoo! just to name a few 

-The geographic reach of our school continued to grow throughout the year - GTS now has students and graduates in states including California, Texas, New York, Illinois, Michigan, Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, South and North Carolina, Florida, Maryland and New Hampshire 

-Our graduates worked on Iconic projects like the new Atlanta Falcons Stadium which was built with 36 million pounds of structural steel and at three International Airports including the World’s first and seventh busiest for passenger traffic
A Look Ahead
 
2017 promises to be a most exciting year, as we are on the move!!

- GTS will be relocating and expanding in the coming months, look for a February announcement on our new building and a summer launch of a facility that will triple our size 

- Shipbuilding is expected to come back strong with opportunities in Virginia (Aircraft Carriers) joining our existing relationship in Mississippi (Destroyers, Cutters and Amphibious assault ships) 

- Manufacturing has expanded for nine out of the last ten months as oil prices have stabilized 

- We also anticipate great demand in construction with twenty major sports and entertainment projects slated including the renovation of Philips Arena
