Dear <<First Name>>,
Happy 2017!
What I love best about the New Year is it gives me a chance to restart and reboot—and make sure that those lists in my to-do box are really where my priorities lie. I am not a fan of making New Year’s resolutions (especially going-to-the-gym kind of resolutions!) but I am a fan of making a set of achievable, attainable goals for the next year.
My goals for this year are to:
- Grow my play therapy knowledge base and
- Stretch myself in ways to allow for more vulnerability and learning.
One way that I am going to achieve goal #1 is to read one new book or journal article every month. A great place to start for those who want to join me is The International Journal of Play Therapy. I would also love to know what your favorite books are and what articles or books have touched or strengthened you as a clinician! Please send me your thoughts on Facebook or Twitter (@ClairMellenthin)!!
My second goal of being stretched and allowing for vulnerability will be coming to bookshelves and bookstores in the next few months. I have THREE books under contract this year!! Holy Hannah! I will be sending links and preview dates as soon as they become available.
What are your goals this year? How can we work together to continue building the field of Play Therapy? I hope to hear from you and continue to learn from each and every one of you!
Warmly,
Clair
