Open data: helping you deliver better services

Happy New Year! We hope you had a well rested break and all took some time to relax, revive and refresh for the year ahead.

A few important points to mention below:

  • Tribute to Julian Carver: Our hearts go out to family and friends of Julian who passed away 2 January. Julian was an integral part of NZ’s open government data journey as a long time open government advocate. Julian made a real difference through his work with Keitha Booth on the Declaration of Open and Transparent Government and the New Zealand Data and Information Management Principles. Julian will be sorely missed by the open data community.
  • Cam's next move: We're excited to announce that Cam has a new role with DIA as Senior Product Manager which includes working on continuing the development of data.govt.nz. We're looking forward to continuing working with him in this new capacity. Cam has worked with our team over the past six months on development of NZGOAL - Software Extension and the Open Data Charter Consultation.
  • E-Learning Modules on Open Data: Find our Open Data E-Learning Modules to increase data literacy on data.govt.nz. Learn more below.
