PRESS RELEASE FROM THE AUSTRALIAN WOODTURNING EXHIBITION

The Australian Woodturning Exhibition will be held on 16-18 June 2017.  This national exhibition has grown year on year and in response to demands from both exhibitors and visitors alike we are moving to bigger premises.  The 2017 show will take place at :

Kingston City Hall
Banqueting Rooms
985 Nepean Highway
Corner of Nepean Highway and South Road
Moorabbin VIC 3189

The show has grown year on year and new and exciting additions are being planned:
  • Kingston City Hall will provide us with more display space so that visitors will have the opportunity to inspect the exhibits from every angle without being distracted by the closeness of other exhibits.
  • We are also adding a new exciting program of live turning demonstrations by leading turners in the industry, the schedule to be announced.
  • We also hope to have exhibition space for our major sponsors -- further details will be announced in due course.
These are exciting times for The Australian Woodturning Exhibition!   For further information on entry of exhibits, live demonstrations, displays and visiting keep your eye on our website www.awtex.com.au or contact Rachelle Leaver on 0416656786

Australian Wood Review Student Awards 2016 - Popular Choice Voting

Popular Choice Voting is now open for Wood Review Student Awards 2016. The entries may be seen here.  And on Facebook here.  Voting is via Facebook.  You may LIKE as many entries as you wish. You can tag family and friends to let them also vote and enjoy seeing the work of these talented younger woodworkers.

The entry that receives the most likes will win Popular Choice award. The links on the description will allow you to see more photos of each entry and some information about how it was made.

There are several other awards which will be determined by judges who are woodworking experts.

Year 11 and 12 students in Australian secondary schools were invited to enter their work in a competition which aims to showcase the woodworking skills they have learned.

That's all for now.  If your club is planning an event - or you know of other activities that would be of interest to fellow Woodies -  we're happy to include it on the listing (but please give plenty of notice).  Lots of members travel and they are interested to know about events that might be on when they are in that area.

All the best to you and your fellow club members (and families of course)

Regards

Alison
