2017: A Year of Sapphire Celebration!
The new year has arrived, and 2017 holds special meaning for the WOCC, as we are celebrating 45 years of Facilitating Opportunity here in West Orange. Since 1972, the Chamber has advocated for pro-business causes, pushed for economic development and provided countless business-building opportunities for the many people and organizations that call this area home.
The 45th anniversary is traditionally commemorated with a sapphire, so we thought, what better way to kick off the celebration than by adding a new look to our website! Take a moment to check it out!

 President Barack Obama appoints Superintendent Barbara Jenkins to Key Administration Post
In a White House press announcement made yesterday, Orange County Public Schools Superintendent Barbara Jenkins joins 12 other leaders in their fields to be appointed to key Administration posts, by and with advice and consent of the Senate. Rick Scott appoints 24 to Judicial Nominating Commissions
Gov. Rick Scott recently announced thirteen appointments and eleven reappointments to many of the state’s Judicial Nominating Commissions, the panels charged with making recommendations for judgeships. Among the appointees are Matthew Klein, an attorney with Jackson Lewis, and Joshua Grosshans, an attorney with Latham, Shuker, Eden & Beaudine, LLP. Read more
