SFUR is starting its own Trail Restoration Project this Saturday

The i's have been dotted and the t's crossed, we're partnering with the Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center to restore trails there. It starts this Saturday, join us at 9AM (RSVP).

Hoodline gave us a great writeup, check it out at http://hoodline.com/2016/12/sf-urban-riders-and-laguna-honda-open-up-long-forgotten-trails

The meeting point is shown on this map (or the green star below). You can enter at the service entrance on Woodside Boulevard and follow the signs. The weather is predicted to be fine, and we'll be out there rain or shine. Extreme weather will delay (to Monday, MLK day) or cancel. The latest details will be posted to our event at https://www.facebook.com/events/1777083365874099/ .

Join us! We plan for this to be a monthly event, so plan to be there in February too--and we hope to have an additional work day soon in collaboration with Rec Park.

New Trail Bells and Other News

Have you seen the Timber Mountain Bike Bells with the SF Urban Riders logo?
Riding with a bell makes other trail users happy, and the Timber bell lets you ride quietly
when you want too.  Shops with the SFUR Timber bells include Wiggle Bicycles, Sprocket Mobile Bike Repair, Mojo Bicycle Cafe, Elevation Bike Co, Swell Bicycles, and American Cyclery. Half of the profits go towards our work.

Progress continues on the Children’s Pump Track slated for Moscone Park’s east parcel. Rec and Parks expects to receive construction bids mid February 2017 and should begin construction in the following months (likely by May). Here’s hoping for some mini shred before the year’s end!

Do you have organization, budgeting, fundraising, or other skills beyond biking and digging? Join our committee (i.e. board of directors). An application (due 1/31) is at https://goo.gl/forms/jIt4qlJ7th2Fduat1 . The January monthly meeting (open to all with no commitment required) will be on the 12th at 6:30PM at Cafe du Soleil in the Lower Haight.
