Our wish for 2017 is (predictably) significant progress towards inclusive and equitable quality education, and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
The start of a new year provides an opportunity for us to thank you for your continued engagement with our work over 2016. There were over 100 launch events for our latest Report in 2016, with several more planned in the coming months. These would not have been possible without the support of our partners. For those who missed the activity, the Report, and many of the presentations are available online.
Related to this paper we have created an activity that can be used by teachers and students to read #BetweenTheLines of their textbooks. For those interested in this topic, join us in a few weeks (16-20 Jan) for a Wikigender discussion, hosted by OECD.
The GEM Report has plenty to look forward to in 2017. Our 2017/8 report due out at the end of the year will look at accountability in education, analyzing how all relevant actors can work together to provide education more effectively, efficiently and equitably. Before then we have a number of policy papers – on School-Related Gender-Based Violence, The Underachievement of Boys, and Higher Education Policy – for you to look forward to.
We wish you the best for 2017 and encourage you to connect with us on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram in order to follow out latest news.
