This Week's Sermon

On Sunday we'll begin a new series on the life of Peter with a sermon from Erik on Luke 5:1-11. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare for this week's service.

(And in case you missed Jim's sermon on Matthew 2:1-12 from last Sunday, you can listen to it right over here.)

Happening this week

  • Winter Weather Policy: The forecast is suggesting we'll see snow this weekend. If that does happen, Sunday worship will go on as planned.
  • Meet & Greet: All are welcome to join us in the Parlor immediately after Sunday's service for our monthly Meet & Greet. Nothing formal--just a chance to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones. We will also use this time to celebrate and send off Jenna Murphy, a City Church member and missionary who leaves next week for a five-year service period in Uganda!
  • Session Overnight: The City Church session will have their annual overnight this weekend. If you have any questions, concerns, or prayer requests you'd like addressed, please contact Erik (erik@citychurchrva.com).

Coming Up Soon

City Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, but membership is not required. Serving Our Community

  • Volunteering in 2017: Looking to get more connected at City Church in 2017? Volunteering during our worship services is a wonderful way to both serve the church and get to know new people. Over the next few weeks our Ministry Team Leaders will begin putting together our volunteer rotation for February-May of 2017. In an effort to help them streamline this process a bit, we wanted to give you the opportunity to go ahead and sign up for the team(s) you'd like to join. Volunteer opportunities are: nursery, children's worship, music, sound board, welcome team, facilities team, prayer team, and our communion bread team. Please use this link to sign up! Once you've signed up, we will pass your information along to the appropriate team leader., and he/she will be in touch!
Have a great week!

Val
