The Planning, Land Use, and Zoning Committee meeting scheduled for January 6, 2017 has been cancelled.
The next Planning Land Use and Zoning meeting, on January 19th at 2:00pm, includes a discussion of potential amendments for U District. Proposed amendments to be discussed will become publicly available next week; look for the notice in the Land Use Information Bulletin on Monday and a memo with more specifics will be available on the City Clerk’s website.
We are hearing a lot about this proposal; consider reading this op-ed and article, both recently featured in the Seattle Times.

Democracy Vouchers Available Now
Earlier this week, the Seattle Ethics and Elections Commission began distributing Democracy Vouchers to Seattle residents. Democracy Vouchers are a new way for Seattle residents to become more involved in city government - by donating to candidate campaigns and/or running for elected positions themselves.
If you are a registered voter in Seattle, check your mailbox - you may have already received your $100 in Democracy Vouchers. Seattle residents may only give Democracy Vouchers to participating candidates running for Seattle City Council or City Attorney in the 2017 elections, and may use their vouchers at any point until the election. The program will expand to include the Mayor’s race in 2021.
