Zines are independent magazines that can be created and published by anyone! This workshop looks at what a zine is, and the many ways people go about creating them. Zines can be a quick and often inexpensive way to get your ideas out there. Join zines creator and curator of Artspace Mackay’s latest exhibition, Copier Jam!, Jeremy Staples to take a look at what creative zines publishers are doing right now. You’ll use a variety of techniques and tools to create and reproduce them yourself, as well as great ways to distribute them and get them noticed. Participants will complete a zine and produce multiple copies for distribution.

Come on guys and girls, beat the heat and sign up for whole lot of fun making ZINES! In this two hour holiday workshop, you’ll learn and use heaps of different techniques including collage, stamping, folding, creative layout methods and photocopying techniques to make your very own zine. Zines are independent magazines that can be created and published by anyone! This workshop looks at what a zine is, and the many ways people go about creating them, then Jeremy will work to help you to bring your own ideas together to make a zine that you can make copies of and distribute to your friends!
