Go 2017!

It's a very creative start to 2017 for rb&hArts. We're delighted to announce 3 new projects starting this January.

Verity Standen embarks on a residency at the Trust, leading to a new vocal composition for hospital spaces. This is the first in a series of commissions for 'The Singing Hospital'.

#ScrubLife by Harriet Riddell returns. Initial workshops for young patients to devise a social media campaign thanks to Brompton Fountain. Harriet Riddell is funded by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Arts Grants Scheme.

Steven Appleby
who created the wonderful art in the Adult Sleep Centre (2012) returns to create new, bespoke artwork for the Sleep Clinic on Fulham Wing. We can't wait to see his finished pieces.

We also welcome the return of Annabelle Bond to the team leading on the exhibition and participatory programme.

Aviation Art | Kai Choi
Harefield Re-beat Gallery

Illustrator Kai Choi is an Associate member of the Guild of Aviation Artists. Passionate about planes since his early youth, he shows a collection of his favourite pieces, some of which are never been represented before and painted from prototype.

Can you guess what they are without looking at the label?
Pinch Pots | Penelope Bennett
Royal Brompton Sydney St Cabinet

Author and potter Penelope Bennett finds that ‘Potting is so enjoyable it’s difficult to stop. Sometimes I sawdust-smoke the pots on my drawing room fire'.

All the pots are pinched and or coiled, then burnished and sometimes smoke-blackened. None of them are made using a wheel.
Support us Get involved | Help us raise funds

Your support makes a huge difference to patients and the quality of their stay in care.

We are very grateful to all our supporters and would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helps us make a difference. All the funds that we raise help deliver an Art Programme at the Trust to enhance the Patient Experience and improve health and well-being.

If you are interested in volunteering (escorting artists and musicians around wards, delivering events and workshops). There are lots of other ways you can help. If you are interested or have an idea, please send us an email: arts@rbht.nhs.uk
