Christmas at LifeBridge

Although we are not in Panama yet, we were excited to get to be a part of the LifeBridge Christmas service. Nate provided the sermon for Christmas Sunday via video. After the service many LifeBridgers headed over to deliver presents and tell the Christmas story to 55 children who are currently living at the MetroAmigo Children's Home. We would have loved to be part of this, but even though we could not we continue to be excited about what is happening in Panama and eager to be their joining this church community in ministry.

This was LifeBridge second year preparing presents for the children at MetroAmigo. The home hosts abandoned & abused children. The director has allowed us in the facility on Christmas Day. We took props and dressed some of the kids as characters to tell the Christmas story. At the end of February, LifeBridge will collect school supplies and return to MetroAmigo. Our hope is to build relationships with the children and trust with the staff in order to hopefully become more involved.

Hitting the Ground Running in 2017

We enjoyed ringing the New Year in with friends in Philly and then headed out to central PA to partake in a week-long intensive course called Perspectives. This course looks at the biblical, historical, cultural and strategic perspectives in missions.  We are currently in the middle of this intensive class and are thoroughly enjoying our time of learning and a time fellowship with others. Of course, when the coordinator asked for volunteers to help with a skit, we jumped right in! [pictured]

What an encouraging way for us to start the year and encourage us as we transition to life in Panama City.  The great thing about this course is that it’s not just for missionaries or those in ministry.  Anyone can take it.  You can learn more at perspectives.org.

What’s Next?

Our goal is still to be in Panama by June.  Over the next several months we are continuing to raise support.  We have been so very blessed and encouraged by those of you who have already joined our support team and we look forward to seeing who else God will bring to our team.

Playing a part in others’ journey.
Mentoring and discipling is one of our passions. Over the past couple of years we have had the opportunity to be a part of the First Year Programs at Cairn University, specifically serving as leaders/mentors to freshman students and going on trips with the Urban Ministry and Outdoor Action groups.  Last year, a trip to Guatemala with this group served as a catalyst to where we are today. My (Jendi) time in Guatemala helped me see my passion for the nations and missions.

We are excited to be involved with these groups again this year and will travel to South Africa with the Urban Ministry program (Jendi) and a winter sports excursion in the Adirondacks with the Outdoor Action program (Nate).  We love being a part of students’ lives and are excited to have the opportunity to be a part of these groups again.

Praise & Prayer

  • We are so grateful for those who have already joined our team and we pray that God brings others who will prayerfully and financially support us.
  • LifeBridge leadership team. Pray for continued encouragement and motivation as they take care of the responsibilities at the church.
  • Logistics.  There is a lot to figure out between now and the time we leave.  From Health Care to pet relocation.  Pray for patience and wisdom as we navigate these waters.
Thank you for you prayers and support!

In process....

We are now in the process of raising support and completing training.  We will not leave for the field until we reach 100% support.  This means that we will remain in the Newtown, PA area until most likely sometime in 2017.
