  • Winter athletes and other students staying at school after 3:45 will be supervised in either a quiet study hall or in the fitness center.  The gates will be closed at this time.  Please plan accordingly.

January is shaping up to be a busy month at ECHS! Mark these dates on your calendars now!
  • Jan 6 - 'After Hours' Worship Night - Co-sponsored by Man Up, Anchored, and Bible & Worship, ECHS and Hawthorne Christian Academy will host a night of worship in our auditorium at 7:30pm.
     
  • Jan 12 - ECHS Winter Concert & Art Show Support your peers and celebrate their work by attending our ECHS Winter Concert and Art Show. Plan to join us for a wonderful evening, beginning at 7pm
     
  • Jan 13 - Robot Fight Night is back! One of last year's most amazing events is back in full force! 7:00 PM at Eastern Christian Middle School, 8 EC student-designed robots will battle it out to become Robot Fight Night Champion! Don't miss out on the fun! Here are highlights from last year's battle!
     
  • Jan 19 - ECHS Community Night at ECHS - Plan to join us as we cheer on the boys basketball team!

Are you going to be a senior or a junior next year? Do you have skills that you want to use professionally right now? Not sure what you want to do but would like to explore a trade? The WINGS program will connect you with an internship to give you real world experience for school credit. SAT/ACT Test Dates

Test Prep classes are provided to ECHS students by BrainStorm Tutoring. Highly effective SAT and ACT prep classes are offered by the best tutoring center around. BrainStorm consistently raises SAT scores 300-400 points and ACT scores by 4-7 composite points. Classes include 18 hours of class instruction and 2 simulated tests, books, and materials. Scholarships and Awards

  • The Valley Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship application is available for students pursuing a career in a health-related field of study. Instructions for applying can be found in College & Career.
  • The Vincent D Pavese Scholarship is for students who wish to enter public service fields. Click Here for more information.
  • The Hon. Nicholas G Mandak Memorial Scholarship is available to students who are entering post-secondary programs of study related to law, criminal justice, paralegal education, and classes for police or Sheriff's officers. 
  • The American Society of Civil Engineers North Jersey Branch Scholarship is offered to students pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. Click here for more info. Applications in College & Career.
  • The Visions Credit Union Scholarship application is now open. Click here to create and account and apply.

  • NJACAC High School Scholarship Award - for students who have a counselor who is a member of NJACAC (thanks, Mr Struck, for being a member!). Info can be found here.
Growth and Leadership Opportunities
  • Engineering Career Day
    • On Wednesday March 15, Rutgers University will host its annual Engineering Career Day.  Engineers will host presentations about the type of work they do in their particular fields of engineering.  One very important session will give information about college entrance requirements and present an overview of a typical four-year engineering program.  Additionally, several institutes of in technology like Stevens and New Jersey Institute of Technology will have booths with informational brochures and representatives to talk with about the programs their institutes offer and their entrance requirements.   Lunch will be provided.
    • This opportunity is open to STEAM students and any junior or senior seriously interested in a career engineering.  Preference will be given to first-time attendees. Permission slips are in the Deans' Office, and the first ten who return their permission slips and payment of $22 will be permitted to go.  The deadline for permission slips and payment is January 31.

    • Understanding Your Accommodations & Assessments: Do you need help understanding your child's IEP or 504 Plan? Let the BrainStorm professionals help! This seminar will focus on a few topics that are useful for anyone trying to navigate the maze of educating a child with special needs. January 25th, 7-8:30pm
    • Creating a Bilingual Culture in Your Home: Give your child(ren) the gift of billingualism for life by going beyond the classroom and immersing your family in a second language. February 22nd, 7-8:30pm
    • Study Skills & Time Management: Do you think your child’s academics would improve with more effective study habits and improved time management? We’re here to give you some skills for acing the test and accomplishing tasks with time to spare! March 29th, 7-8:30pm
  • Michigan Math & Science Scholars - University of Michigan is now accepting applications for their summer enrichment program designed to expose students to a breadth of curricula offered at the University of Michigan. Info sheets are availabe in College & Career. Apply and learn more here.

Saturday School


Saturday School is a program of Eastern Christian School. All students, both EC and non-EC are welcome to sign up for Saturday School classes. DRIVER'S ED - SPRING SESSION
  • Cost for the spring session is $125
  • Dates for the class are: Jan 28, Feb 4, 11, 25, Mar 4, 11, 18, 25, Apr 8, 15 (test day). Apr 22 will be a make-up day is any classes are canceled due to inclement weather.
