HITS, Inc. Proudly Takes Ownership of Balmoral Woods Golf Club
Saugerties, NY (January 13, 2017): HITS, Inc. is excited to announce the acquisition of the beloved Balmoral Woods Golf Club, located in Crete, Illinois, a suburb outside of Chicago.
The rolling Balmoral Woods course is open to the public and spans 280 acres with 18 holes, varying in difficulty. The course will reopen after the winter season in April, and with HITS leading the force, exciting improvements are in store.
Balmoral Woods hosts a bar and restaurant area that can accommodate groups of 100-150, and a banquet facility that can accommodate 80-100. The property also features a snack shop out on the golf course, and a beverage cart that is used for larger events. In addition to a pristine, public golf course, Balmoral Woods offers the complete package for special events and occasions.
Although under new management, veteran visitors to the course will continue to see familiar faces, like Superintendent Nick McCraw and Assistant General Manager, Brian Snell. Bill Abrams, the longtime PGA Head Golf Professional will also be staying on for 2017. Visitors can also expect top caliber food service and significant upgrades to the Balmoral Woods Club House, keeping the property a “must-play” location for golf enthusiasts near and far, as well as a spectacular special events venue.

HITS, Inc. produces world-class hunter/jumper horse show events with a nationwide foot print from coast to coast. HITS purchased the iconic Balmoral Park, a harness racetrack and event venue, in May of 2016. This year in 2017, the doors will reopen at Balmoral Park, but this time, as the premier show jumping venue in the Midwest with 14 weeks of horse shows running from May – September.
The Balmoral Woods Golf Club will expect an abundance of new clients from HITS Horse Shows in the coming year. With a large number of trainers, owners and riders expected to show at the completed Balmoral Park this summer, the public course will be undoubtedly bustling with new customers looking to enjoy the community and play a magnificent round of golf with friends and family.
