ELP Module 4 Now Available

(From Jobi Lawrence, Title III and ELL consultant for the Department of Education)

Hope everyone had a chance to recharge over the winter break.

The ELP Standards Module 4 is now available for people to access.  You can find it at this link  (http://training.aeapdonline.org) Once you have logged in you can search the catalog for the module "ELP Standards Module 4".

There is also a module for Tech Coordinators regarding the preparation for administering the ELPA21 Assessment this spring.  This module is located at this link. (http://training.aeapdonline.org) Once they have logged in you can search the catalog for the module "ELPA21 Tech Coordinator Training 2016-2017".  We are waiting on updated information from AIR for the ELPA21 test administration training so it is not yet available.  Announcements will be made when the training is ready.

This google document is updated as modules and trainings become available for both the ELP Standards and the ELPA21 Assessment.

Developer's Course Coming This Spring

You might not have thought of yourself as an instructional designer, but it is quickly becoming an important skill in this age of online and self-paced learning.  And, with the availability of the AEA PD Online training system, you have an easy path to design and deliver your learning.  You just need to know how.

Coming this spring, we will have you covered.  We will be adding The Developer's Course, a self-paced course that walks you through important aspects of instructional design so that you can not only build your online module, but build it well.

The course includes the following modules:
  • Basics of Online Modules
  • How-to: Developing in the Training System*
  • How-to: Developing in the Student Learning System*
  • How-to: Developing in SoftChalk Cloud*
  • How-to: Developing in the OER Commons*
  • Developing Your Module
  • Design for Online Modules
  • Assessment in Your Module
(Those with an asterisk feature a choice for the participant, depending on where she is intending to build her content)

This course will be available completely self-paced and worth one license-renewal credit, and AEA PD Online's team of instructional designers will be providing feedback on your module.  Alternatively, any of the individual learning modules are available separately.  So, if you are simply looking to take the How-to module to get up to speed, you can do so.

Even if you are not the person to be designing online modules or lessons within your district (for professional learning or for student learning), be sure to share this update with those who are.
