IMPACT The gPROMS modelling technology and Process Systems Enterprise Ltd., a spin-out company from the Centre for Process Systems Engineering, were featured as a high-impact case study at a recent IChemE Research Committee event held in the Houses of Parliament. gPROMS was one of the 10 selected case studies shown at the event, for its huge impact on industry and academia. JIGGLING Edward Smith, in collaboration with other researchers from the Department, has produced an excellent video on the molecular origins of well-known fluid phenomena, including the formation of droplets, the impact of introducing chemicals like soap and bubbles in boiling. Watch the video

IN MEMORIAM It is with regret that we announce the death of Shane Cadogan, a former PhD student in the Department. A fundraising page, in memory of Shane, has been set up to raise money for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust. Following Shane's death in Germany the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust provided assistance bringing his body home to his family. Read more
