Letter from the President

What's your resolution for 2017?

Dear Friend,

Happy New Year! Have you made a New Year’s Resolution? We asked kids attending our New Year’s Eve Ball Drop to write down a resolution for 2017. You can see them displayed in the Museum’s lobby and posted on our Facebook page. Some of my favorites included “Eat more mac and cheese”, “I will not suck my thumb” and “I wish for everybody to have stuffed animals.”

Cost: Free for Museum Members, $12 for non-members (included with Museum admission).

Q & A with Karen Boorshtein of the Family Service League

For the past several months, educators from the Children's Museum have provided monthly programming to kids staying at the Family Service League's South Shore shelter. We recently spoke Karen Boorshtein, the organization's president and CEO, about the origins of the Family Service League, the services they provide, and what the partnership means for families struggling with homelessness.

Volunteering With Katy's Kids @ CMEE

In addition to greeting families, registering kids for our many workshops, and ensuring kids have the time of their lives whenever they visit the Museum, Kieran Barber also volunteers with Katy's Kids, a family bereavement program that meets at the Museum. Mr. Barber was kind enough to share some of his experiences working with this vital resource for families living in the East End.

The Science of Snow

Saturday, January 28th @ 10am - 10:45am

There’s no need to wait for the temperature to drop to have yourself a snow day…especially when you can make your own. In this family workshop, kids will learn how to turn a few simple ingredients into perfectly packable “snow.”

Ages: Parents with children ages 3 – 6 years.
Cost: $5 for Museum Members, $19 for non-members.

Space is limited and pre-registration is strongly encouraged. To register, please call the Museum at 631.537.8250 or sign up online.
