Hey sis,

Happy new year!! It's a new year! A new day!

Remember that whatever happened last year was for last year!

Don't allow your focus of last year's struggle to hinder God from moving you forward this year.

Focus on what's ahead of you and how you can pick up from here.

The more you focus on the "could haves" and "should haves" from last year, the more you show God your mind isn't focused on what's ahead!

Let's show Him we are ready to move by our faith!

With that being said, towards the end of 2016 I was praying for you and asking God what was on His heart concerning you.

As He touched my heart, I began sensing from Him that too many of you are hesitating with your obedience.

Let's look at a scripture about this:

James 1:8 King James Version (KJV)

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

When you hesitate, you become focused on more than one thought and can easily fall into a double minded mentality.

You can't have a mind that's focused on what God says, what you're thinking, what your relatives want, and what your boss desires.

No, there's nothing wrong with taking Godly advice or wisdom from Godly sources. No, there's nothing wrong with doing what your boss or mom want, as long as it's in God's will.

However, there is a problem when you're listening to too many voices or mentors.

There's also a problem when you hear what God is saying but choose to be hesitant instead of moving forward.

What have you been hesitant with? Sharing the gospel with your co-workers? Loving someone who hurt you?

What has God been telling you to do for years but you still haven't finished that goal? What happened to that book you were supposed to write or that desire to go back to school?

The struggle with being hesitant or double minded is that it can cause you to become so indecisive that you never move at all. Consequently, you become complacent in disobedience or miss out on the blessing God has for you!

I remember talking about going back to grad school. I was talking about it for years, but I never actually took action because I said I was "waiting on God to tell me what to do."

Then, I heard a Word from the Lord from my pastor who said, "if you are someone who's been thinking about going back to school for a year, you need a renewed vision."

I was like welp! There's my answer! Let me go get a renewed vision for my life from God.

I began to seek God about my desire to go back to school. I mean truly seek Him. I would sit in His face for hours. But, He wouldn't say anything about my request.

Then, all of sudden, when I pulled up to work, He touched my heart and let me know it was His will for me to go back to school and get my doctorate.

I'm happy to say that I will officially begin my masters classes this 2017 spring semester and I'm looking forward to moving up from there!

Sis, you can't walk around for a year saying that you're "thinking" about doing something. Who is physically "thinking" for a whole year?! At that point, like me with my schooling, you're no longer "thinking," you are hesitating.

It's also important to remember that, yes, there are times that God is silent. Remember, when I originally sat in His face for hours, He said nothing.

But, in many instances, it's not that He won't speak, but rather that we aren't SEEKING His face long enough. Or, as my boyfriend says, we want to ask, but we don't want to seek.

We want to go in His face for 10 minutes, ask a question, and expect a response. God doesn't work that way.

You may ask Him, but do you seek Him?

Read what I said here about "seeking God."

As soon as I really pulled on God's heart for a purpose to please Him, He spoke about school. But, He spoke on His time, not my own.

So, what have you been saying you're "waiting" on God to do?

Are you really "waiting" or are you just hesitating?

Even worse, is He really silent, or have you just not sought His face long enough?
