Rhythms of Grace, Zion's monthly ministry of worship and faith formation for children and families with autism, is this Saturday, Jan. 7th at 5pm. We will be exploring the themes of the Epiphany (the arrival of the wise men).

This Sunday

On January 8, there will be one worship service at 10:30am followed by our Annual Meeting and Parish Luncheon. We will elect new members to the vestry and the 2017 budget will be presented.

The Spirit is active at Zion and we have a lot to celebrate! There will be an activity for kids and food for all!

Meet our Candidates

For Warden

Wesley Wright

One thing I appreciate about Zion right now is...
how so many children are engaged in the life of Zion.  I see it on a broad scale when so many children of all ages participate in the Christmas Pageant, or help lead a service, or hang ornaments on the Jesse Tree.  I see it up close when my younger son Alistair looks forward to coming to Zion every Sunday because he loves Sunday School.  I see it when Zion is one of the places where my older son Wesley, who is autistic, is most comfortable, due largely to Rhythms of Grace and the relationships he has built with the parishioners who volunteer there.  One opportunity I see for Zion in the years ahead is… to continue to grow our membership by being a place where people at all stages of life can feel welcome and engaged, both spiritually and in our community.  It is wonderful to see how our membership and attendance are growing, and I think we can continue to spread the good news about Zion in our community and invite many others to join us in worship and ministry. One way I believe I will contribute to the work of the vestry is... I have many years of experience in business at American Express, McKinsey, and now with a tech startup. I hope to be able to use this experience to help Zion define, pursue and achieve a compelling set of strategic goals, and to ensure that Zion has a vibrant, growing membership and a strong financial foundation.

For Vestry

Julia Schoeck (1st Term)

One thing I appreciate about Zion right now… Forward movement with positive outlook. One opportunity I see for Zion in the years ahead…Fulfill Zion’s commitment as a vital part of the community. One way I believe I will contribute to the work of the vestry is… Be a productive part of the whole.
Alexis Soterakis (1st Term)

One thing I appreciate about Zion right now is...how we can all come together, as different as we are, and create a fun welcoming community.  One opportunity I see for Zion in the years ahead is...to create more opportunities for people of different ages to come together, to really get to know each other, and work toward on a common project.   I'd love to organize a mission trip abroad.   One way I believe I will contribute to the work of the vestry is...by bringing my perspective, I am relatively new to Zion and the Episcopal community, but I have lots of ideas about how to make sure we thrive in the years to come.
John Kolnsberg (2nd Term)

One thing I appreciate about Zion right now is
... the friendliness and fellowship we demonstrate toward each other and to newcomers. One opportunity I see for Zion in the years ahead is... growing in both size and spirit as a parish and reaching out to people in need in a meaningful way. One way I believe I will contribute to the work of the vestry is...using my experience in the construction field and knowledge of local contractors to help the parish with the care and maintenance of our beautiful grounds (and help keep abandoned cars out of our lot!)
