Bill Roby, Executive Director of the El Dorado Community Foundation, began his work with the Foundation in 2007. Bill has been an integral part of the formation of Women’s Fund El Dorado and one of our founding members. It is truly an honor to welcome Bill as our keynote speaker at this event. We are looking forward to hearing his insights on funding gaps in community philanthropy.
Don't forget to purchase your tickets ASAP! Ticket prices for this dinner event increase to $30 on January 14 (this weekend!).
In 2012, Women's Fund provided funding for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of El Dorado County (BBBS) to sponsor "Girls Circle of El Dorado." This collaborative project between BBBS, Herbert Green, and Markham Middle School served a total of 57 girls. Girls Circle met over a series of 30 weeks and addressed specific areas of concern considered to be the foundation of girls’ health: self-efficacy, perceived body image, and perceived social support and relationships with parents, peers, partners, and community.
In the words of past BBBS Executive Director, Judy Knapp, "You have allowed the girls to voice their experiences, gain skills to help themselves in everyday relationships and situations, and to pursue meaningful goals at school and beyond. It was truly a life-changing experience for all!"
Together, we inspire greatness in our community!
