Volunteer of the Month
Krissy Hohepa - Hockey

Krissy is a valuable member of the Poverty Bay Hockey Association volunteer base.  She coaches multiple school teams in both the summer and winter competitions.  Krissy is part of the management team for GMC Women’s Club and manages a team in the summer league competition.  Not only this, but Krissy’s love for the game sees her umpiring both junior and senior competitions in summer and winter, and sometimes umpires multiple games in any one day.  If Krissy is not coaching, umpiring or playing she can be found helping with fundraising, working bees, setting up and packing down for events, and even watching the children of players, in order for the parents to play.  Krissy is a very valuable voluntary asset to our Association.

Congratulations! The monthly winner will receive a $25 voucher from Peppers Beachfront, Sport Maker merchandise, and a volunteer discount card.

Active Mokopuna Graduations

It is that time of year where we acknowledge the work of those early childhood centres and kohanga Reo who have completed the Active Mokopuna Programme for 2016.  Scooter the Active Play came along to graduations to present centres with their certificates and sports equipment.  He lead some games and got everyone moving and grooving to Zumba!  Throughout the year we have had staff attend professional development opportunities, review their physical activity and nutrition policies as well as provide increased opportunities for tamariki to develop their fundamental movement skills.  We are thrilled to see among our region, centres committed to providing quality physical activity and nutrition practices within their learning environments.  Congratulations everyone!
