My question this week comes from Michelle Obama’s now famous rallying cry at the Democratic convention this past July: “When they go low, we go high.” In the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi’s famous edict “Be the change that you wish to see in the world,” Michelle Obama seems to have made it her personal mission to model good citizenship and human decency not only for her own children but for all of us.
This advice is not only applicable to the political realm but to every aspect of our lives. Think of just one situation in your own life, be it personal or professional, and ask yourself “How can I go high?” Then do it. I promise you the effects of this positive action will reverberate far beyond the situation itself.
