Be Sure to Update Your Bank Account Info in Snap+!

Cookie time is fast approaching, and we want to make sure you're set up for a smooth program once everything gets started! Remember, it is the Troop Product Manager's (TPM) responsibility to enter your troop’s bank account and routing numbers in Snap+.

You can enter this information on the "Troop Info" page by going to the My Troop tab and selecting Edit Troop Information from the drop down menu.

Troops who do not have their bank account information entered into Snap+ will have their Initial Orders withheld until this information is updated. Troops who do not have bank account information and have not placed an Initial Order will not be able to place Planned Orders until this information has been updated.

Is your troop new? New troops who do not have a troop account yet will need to set one up as soon as possible. Email us at info@gsiowa.org right away, and check out our Bridge post for more help with setting up your troop bank account!

Girl Info Will Be Uploaded into Snap+ on January 20

All girls with a current 2016-2017 Girl Scout membership as of January 18 will be uploaded into Snap+ on January 20.

Girls who have financial restrictions will also be uploaded; however, they will only be able to participate via booth sales and COCOdirect as they may not handle money or product directly.

After the initial upload, we will be uploading girls into Snap+ on a weekly basis as they register for the year. Please allow 5 business days after a girl registers for her to be uploaded into Snap+.

Reminder: Be sure to collect Parent/Guardian Permission Forms for all girls selling cookies! If a girl sold Fall Product and filled out this form already this year, she is good to go. If a girl has not filled out this form since October 2016, make sure the family completes the form to ensure you and your troop are protected should there be any Girl Shortages.

Gluten Free Trios Availability

Whoa, Girl Scouts!  Demand for gluten free Trios during the Initial Order was much higher this year than expected. In fact, before our Initial Order was completed, more Trios were ordered than were sold during the entire 2016 Cookie Program!

Due to the high demand, we ran out of Trios during the Initial Order process. We are working hard to secure more, but at this time, Trios will not be available to be ordered through the Planned Order process.  If more Trios become available to our council, we will be sure to inform troops through Snap+ and in future Shout Outs!

Troops are encouraged to exchange or give cookies to each other when needed. Any such exchange should be tracked in Snap+ as a Transfer, even when equal amounts are traded.

Troops can also exchange cookies (even cookies received during the Initial Order) at a Cookie Cupboard/Jar when picking up a Planned Order. You cannot bring back more cookies back than you are picking up, and the cookies must be in excellent condition (not exposed to pets, smoke, or other damage). The Cupboard Manager will take care of all Transfers in Snap+.

Council-Secured Booth Notifications

If your troop has a timeslot at any of the council-secured booths at malls or trade shows during the first weekend of booth sales (February 10), we will be following up with you with more details next week!

If your troop has a trade show timeslot later in the Cookie Program, we will reach out to you a few weeks before your scheduled booth.

We will also begin approving troop-secured booth requests in Snap+ starting next week, so that your booths will be included in the national Cookie Finder app and website. If you have a troop-secured booth sale that you would like to be included, please add it in Snap+! For more information see the Booth Sales Snap+ Guide.

Tip of the Week

Booth sale tip from a GSGI volunteer: “At our previous booths, if a customer only purchased one box, we would always ask if they would like their dollar back or if they wanted to donate it to the military. About half the time, people donated their dollar, which added up to almost 4 cases of Cookie Share donations!”
